    by Thrangu Rinpoche

Gampopa was the main disciple of Milarepa and one of the founders of the Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Besides writing the "Jewel Ornament of Liberation", Gampopa distilled the Buddhist path into four short lines or truths, called dharmas. These lines became known as the "Four Dharmas of Gampopa". • FRAMEWORK OF NAGARJUNA'S PHILOSOPHY FRAMEWORK OF NAGARJUNA'S PHILOSOPHY
    by Padhye

This book 'The Framework of Nagarjuna's Philosophy' is an attempt to reconstruct a better understanding of Nagarjuna's philosophy in a novel way. It is anew and somewhat unconventional way of looking at Nagarjuna's philosophy.
The work is carried out strictly adhering to original Sanskrit text-Madhyamaka Sastra. The author has dealt with three important concepts viz. Pratitya Samutpada, Sunyata and Nirvana which are considered to be highly technically, philosophically rich and intellectually rewarding as pillars of Nagarjuna's philosophical position viz. Madhyama Pratipad. By analyzing these three concepts the author shows that intricate line of Nagarjuna's reasoning is woven around them. The author further shows that the teaching of the Buddha and thereby path between two extreme positions adopted in this regard on any level of understanding.

  • EMPTINESS APPRAISED: A Critical Study of Nagarjuna's Philosophy EMPTINESS APPRAISED: A Critical Study of Nagarjuna's Philosophy
    by David Burton

This book argues that though Nagarjuna advocates the Middle Way between nihilism and eternalism, his philosophy of emptiness nevertheless entails nihilism. Burton also refutes the interpretation that Nagarjuna is a skeptic, and examines Nagarjuna's notion of non-conceptual knowledge of reality. In addition, Nagarjuna's critiques of the Nyaya theory of knowledge (pramana) are critically scrutinized.

  • MASTER OF WISDOM: Writings of the Buddhist Master Nagarjuna MASTER OF WISDOM: Writings of the Buddhist Master Nagarjuna
    by Christian Lindtner (Translator)

Twenty centuries ago, the famed Buddhist philosopher and teacher Nagarjuna drew on the profound teachings of Mahayana Buddhism to found a new way of exploring the nature of reality. The works composed by this master inspired a tradition of philosophical inquiry that has continued to the present day. His ideas and teachings, like those of all great thinkers, remain fresh and vital in every age.
Westerners have usually had to rely on translations of only a few key works in assessing Nagarjuna's thought. In this book, Dr. Lindtner vastly expands the range of texts available to the general reader. The dialectic for which Nagarjuna is famous can be found here, in works that repay serious study with new insights. But there are also hymns of praise and guides to conduct, as well as texts that clarify Nagarjuna's understanding of the connection between analysis, spiritual practice, and moral conduct.

  • TREE OF WISDOM TREE OF WISDOM
    by Nagarjuna / Dorji

Commentary of Manners Called The Tree of Wisdom Composed by Saint Nagarjuna.
"Sherab Dongbu", the tree of wisdom is the commentary of manners or moral maxim having 260 verses composed by Saint Nagarjuna (Goenpo Ludrub) in 100 BC. The original text was in Sanskrit known as "Prajna Danda" which was translated into Chhoekay (classical language) in the 11th century AD and included in the Tenjur (commentarial canon) in section "DO", volume "GO" beginning at 165 leaf. It is incredible that the Chhoekay version has been incorporated in the Tenjur because the original text in Sanskrit is no longer available and it is not known how the text was lost.
